The unpopularity of the hearing

If people who listen well we imagine the world of people who listen to worse, we probably think of a reality where the weakest sound sounds as if we lowered the volume on the TV until it hardly audible.

But not entirely so. People who listen to bad, technically called hard of hearing, not just listen to every day more weakly, but quite often associated with three serious problems for your hearing:

1. Lack of intelligibility: "To a certain extent and I can hear but then I do not understand what I say. "
2. Algiacusia: " When volume is high enough so you can hear, it hurts my ears. "
3. Tinnitus: " Not only did I hear less, but I feel like a noise, roaring or ringing in the background ".

The treatment of hearing loss is too long to explain here, because this hearing loss may be due to different diseases. Despite this, many sometimes the only treatment are hearing aids: the popularly called "headphones".

The headphones are incredibly useful tools when the person has not lost too much hearing. It is like the glasses give better view for someone with few diopters, while a little blind serve. This is the first problem: As with the glasses of the blind, when a patient has severe or profound hearing loss, hearing aid does not provide a comfortable listening on many occasions.

In this first issue we add a second. While glasses have become a fashion gimmick and rarely takes them to shame (it says a server, that user is the same as seven years), the instrument does not suffer the same fate and not infrequently that the use of one of them is rejected by the patient for aesthetic reasons.

This rejection occurs while the hearing is maintained at a level that allows a person to develop a more or less normal. In cases in which the deafness progresses and the use of headphones is really necessary, we find the above problem, the headset does not grant a hearing sole user satisfaction.

And the culmination of all this, the instrument has a great disadvantage compared to their peers glasses, its price, which can easily exceed that of spectacles ten times for mid-range headphones. And unfortunately, the headphones do not fall within the Social Security benefits for adults.

In short, they are the reasons why part of our population does not hear well. While we squeezed our brains health to solve this problem, our duty as citizens is to be aware that hearing loss affects many more people than we think and perceive life not like us.
